SIERRA NEVADA BACKPACKING RETREAT - 3 DAYS
Experience the power of nature with Michelle Turley L.Ac, MTCM, practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and seasoned backpacker. Michelle will lead you on a 3 day adventure into the Sierra Nevada's Paradise Lake region where she will teach you techniques to grow spiritually and energetically.

During this sacred backpacking journey we will connect to the spirit of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We will be tapping into the abundant well of energy and ancient wisdom of the Earth and Universe. While practicing Qigong and exploring philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine we will deepen our connection. Quieting our minds, awakening our inner compass, we will learn tools to walk through life connected to our power and wisdom. Activating who we truly are and start to manifest the life you always dreamed of.
This retreat is appropriate for both the avid backpacker and those with little backpacking experience. Participants must be able to hike up to 5 to 7 miles a day, with a pack weighing 30 lbs, at elevation. Packing guidance, gear list, snack ideas, ideas to lighten your pack weight, as well as leave no trace principles, will be provided.

Arrive at the Cedar House Sport Hotel a charming Sierra Mountain hotel for a healthy breakfast to kickstart your journey. You will be greeted by Michelle and your T3 Adventures representative who will provide a trip orientation as well as a pack shakedown.
Paradise Lake is a classic Sierra Nevada lake with gorgeous sunsets and a pristine lake full of trout. The hike is rated as a moderate 15.6 mile out and back with roughly 2,700 feet in elevation change.
We start our retreat at the Castle Peak trailhead. We will hike up through Castle Valley until we reach the base of Castle Pass where we will climb the 200 vertical feet to the top of Castle Pass. From there we will descend into beautiful Round Valley where we will visit the historic Peter Grubb Hut, which is owned by the Sierra Club. We will stop there for snack and to visit the hut. From there we will continue on past the Peter Grubb Hut to Paradise Valley and our final destination, Paradise Lake. Upon arriving at camp Michelle will begin her program while your T3 Guides sets up camp and prepares dinner.
Awake with a morning Qigong and meditation session with Michelle. Afterwards enjoy a healthy breakfast while overlooking the lake. Michelle will then lead you on a "Teaching Hike with Intention" where you will enjoy lunch on the trail.
After lunch you will return to camp for rest, relaxation and reflection on the day. Then enjoy a soothing swim in the lake before your gourmet dinner which is prepared by your T3 Adventures guide. Afterwards join Michelle for an evening of teaching, meditation and reflection.
After a restful nights sleep below the stars we will once again start the day with a morning session of Qigong and meditation followed by another healthy breakfast. Michelle will then lead a teaching session before we pack up our camp and hit the trail for a reflective hike back to the trail head where we say our goodbyes. We will enjoy one last lunch together along the trail.

Michelle Turley L.Ac, MTCM has studied energy medicine since 1995. Nature has always been Michelle’s #1 love and resting place. Over the years Michelle realized that she became more self empowered by challenging herself in nature and she brought that strength into her everyday life to help accomplish her goals. In 2002 she met her now husband Scott Williamson who is a legend in the thru hiking community for the thousands of miles he has hiked on long trails and the many records he has set on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Michelle learned everything she knows about backpacking and long distance hiking from Scott. Since then she has taken many life changing adventures. Michelle has been teaching retreats in the backcountry since 2010
